WEATHER CONDITIONS

Season phenology: early

Weather conditions:

Summer was hot and dry, while the end of summer and autumn were predominantly warm. Snow reduced to 50% on flat surface on 5 May and completely melted by 11 May. Ice break-up occurred in the first dates of June. Snwofalls were not recorded in summer months, and snow layer did not established until our departure on 2 October. Temperatures dropped below freezing at night in the second half of September, but freeze-up did not occur on lakes before 2 October with only some shore-ice present.
